Our compatibility list for 1XB19A covers one platform: the HP DesignJet Z6, in its 24-in, 44-in, Z6dr and Z6 Pro forms. PSE sells those machines as the Studio 64 Pro and the Print Center Pro 64. A printer on 1-liter tanks is a different range entirely, and nothing in our list reaches past the Z6.

Yellow in a six-color range with no green tank

Yellow is the third process ink in a range that runs Photo Black, Matte Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Chromatic Red — six parts, and no green among them. HP publishes a chromatic green as P2V84A at 300 ml and 1XB03A at a liter, but both are listed for the Z9⁺ only, so there is no 500-ml green tank a Z6 can take.

Size and cost per milliliter

There is one 500-ml yellow in this range and this is it, so the choice facing a Z6 buyer is a size decision rather than a color one. At $249.95 for 500 ml, 1XB19A works out at $500 a liter. The 300-ml yellow for the Z6, part P2V79A, is $198.95 here, or $663 a liter, which makes the larger tank about 25% less per milliliter.

Don’t order this by mistake

Three numbers sit close together and only one of them is right. 1XB19A is the 500-ml yellow. 1XB08A and 1XB09A are HP 776 1-liter parts, yellow and cyan respectively, and both are listed for the Z9⁺ — so a slipped digit there lands on the wrong platform, and on 1XB09A the wrong color as well.

Yes. Every color in the 775 set is the same price here, so the color you need never moves the budget line.

Does yellow run out faster than the rest?

We publish no consumption rate by color and would rather not guess at one. The front panel shows the level in each bay, and on a six-color range with no green tank, which bay empties first follows the artwork you send rather than anything about the ink.
