Which printer takes it

The HP DesignJet T830 MFP is the machine HP names against this cartridge, and the only printer in our genuine-HP range drawing on the 728 family. If the model plate on the front reads anything else, this is not the part.

What this cartridge is for

Cyan is one of the four HP 728 cartridges the T830 MFP takes, alongside Magenta, Yellow and Matte Black. Each is a separate HP part, so you replace only the tank that has run down. Cyan is the one worth checking twice before you order: of the four, its 300 ml and 130 ml part numbers are the easiest pair in the set to transpose. The codes are set out below — read the one printed on the tank you are pulling out rather than going by the color name.

Don’t order this by mistake

F9K17A is this 300 ml tank; F9J67A is the 130 ml. The prefix is the reliable tell — large color tanks begin F9K1, small ones F9J6, which also puts 130 ml Yellow at F9J65A and 130 ml Magenta at F9J66A one digit either side of the small cyan. Matte Black obeys neither rule: 3WX25A at 130 ml, F9J68A at 300.

No. Every color and size is a separate HP part sold on its own, so cyan can be replaced while the rest of the set stays in the machine.

Will the printer accept a cartridge bought from you rather than direct from HP?
