The compatibility list for this part is the Z9+ range only — 24-inch, 44-inch, Z9+dr and Z9+ Pro all share it. Nothing in the Z6 line accepts a 747 tank, so if your panel reads Z6, this is the wrong part.

Why a dedicated green exists

Mixing cyan with yellow produces a green, but only across a limited band of them. HP’s own description of this cartridge says what the dedicated ink buys you: a broader range of greens than cyan-and-yellow mixing reaches on the Z9 plus. That matters where one particular green is the point — a school color repeated down a hallway of banners, or a photograph full of foliage.

300 ml versus the 1-liter tank

This tank holds 300 ml. The same Chromatic Green also comes as a 1-liter cartridge, part 1XB03A, from the HP 776 range that serves the same Z9+ printers. Per milliliter of ink the liter tank is the cheaper of the two; the 1XB03A page carries the current figure. The 300 ml suits an occasional job, the liter a standing one.

Green is the 4 in P2V84A

One character away, P2V85A is Chromatic Blue — same 747 set, same size box, and HP’s own note warns that several 747 tanks look alike. If the job that emptied this slot was a green one, check the digit before the letter. Chromatic Red is not in the 747 set at all: that is P2V81A in the 746 range, a different color rather than a substitute.

For general classroom work the process colors cover greens adequately. Where a green has to match something — a logo, a uniform, a repeated background — the dedicated ink extends the range available to the printer.
