HP’s compatibility list for 676M6A covers the DesignJet T850, T850 MFP, T870 and XT870. An XT950 or XT950 MFP does not appear on it. If you are buying for more than one printer, confirm each machine separately rather than repeating last year’s order line.
Cyan in the larger tank
Cyan goes into nearly every color print rather than only obviously blue artwork, which is why it tends to deplete in step with magenta rather than on its own schedule. The 300 ml size exists for sites where that steady draw adds up: fewer interruptions and fewer part numbers moving through receiving.
Steady draw is what makes the bigger tank pay
Three hundred milliliters at $224.95 works out to $750 a liter. The 130 ml cyan, part 498N5A, is $117.95, or $907 a liter — so every milliliter in the small tank costs 21% more. The reason to choose the smaller one is cash flow or storage, not price.
676M9A is not this part
The number immediately after this one, 676M9A, is the 738M 300 ml cyan: same color, same volume, same $224.95, different range, and it carries an integrated printhead. It is listed for the XT950 and XT950 MFP as well as the T870 and XT870; 676M6A is the part for a T850. The 130 ml cyan for a T850 is 498N5A, not anything in the 676 sequence.

No — order 676M6A for the T850 and 676M9A for the XT950. Same color, same volume, same price, two different ranges. (A T870 or XT870 is listed for both parts; call us before mixing them on one machine.)
How do we know when to reorder cyan?
Cyan is one of the core process colors, so on a color-poster workload it depletes at a similar rate to magenta. Check both channels when you reorder either one, and order by part number: 676M6A for cyan at 300 ml, 676M7A for magenta.
