Description
Which printer takes this part
Every tank in this carton is an HP 712 cyan, so the fit is the HP DesignJet T650, in both the 24-in and 36-in formats. This part fits the T650 only; if your machine is not a T650, this cartridge will not fit it. Read the model name off the machine label before you order, because opened OEM supplies cannot be returned — unopened supplies may be returned within 30 days of delivery, less a 30% restocking fee (store policies).
What the cyan tank does on this machine
Cyan is one of the three color inks a T650 blends for everything that is not plain black. Cyan also tends to be the color that runs out first — that is the note HP’s own copy for this part carries, and it is a buying note rather than a rule, since a room printing mostly text and dark artwork will drain black faster instead. If your cyan warning keeps arriving ahead of the others, three tanks in one carton is the ordering pattern that matches how the machine is actually being used.
Why this part ships as a carton of three
What arrives is three separate 29 ml tanks in one box, each identical to the cyan cartridge sold on its own — not one larger reservoir. The printer still holds a single tank at a time; the other two wait in the cupboard, which is the point of the carton for a school that does not want a print run stopping mid-term.
Size, and how the carton compares
Three tanks of 29 ml is 87 ml of cyan on one line of the invoice. The carton costs less per milliliter than three single 29 ml tanks bought as three separate lines. Prices move, so read the figure shown on this page against the single-cartridge page on the day you raise the PO rather than trusting a number typed into body copy; how we work out cost per milliliter is explained once on the genuine HP ink and printheads index.
Don’t order this one by mistake
This code bills three tanks. The single 29 ml cyan is a different HP part, 3ED67A, and that is the one to order if you need only one. Ink is also not the only consumable on a T650: the printhead is a separate part, it is not a 712, and no amount of cyan will revive a tired one. That is the HP 713 printhead.

What buyers check on the three-pack
Is the ink in the carton different from the single cartridge?
No. Three tanks of the same part, same 29 ml, same genuine HP cyan you would buy one at a time.
Can a district split one carton between two schools?
Yes — the carton holds three separate cartridges, so a district can split it between two machines, as long as both are HP DesignJet T650 printers, 24-in or 36-in.
