Description
HP part F9J67A, a 130-milliliter genuine HP Cyan cartridge in the 728 range. Of the two sizes HP builds in this color, this is the smaller.
Which printer takes it
The machine we list this cartridge against is the HP DesignJet T830 MFP. Where a district runs several wide-format printers, match the cartridge to the machine and not to the room it stands in.
What Cyan does here
The 728 cartridges we stock run matte black plus three chromatic colors — cyan, magenta and yellow — so cyan has no substitute in the set. A low-cyan alert does not slow full-color work down, it stops it. The 130-ml size suits moderate output, or a cupboard where holding a spare of each color matters more than the rate per milliliter.
Size and cost per milliliter
Cyan also comes in the 728 range as a 300-ml tank, part F9K17A. It holds 170 ml more ink than this one and works out materially cheaper per milliliter, and the ink inside is the same. Which of the two is the better buy depends on your print volume and on how much you want to commit in one order. Current prices for both are shown on their product pages.
How the HP 728 part numbers run
Read down the F9J run and the pattern breaks. F9J65A is Yellow, F9J66A Magenta and F9J67A Cyan, all three 130 ml, and then F9J68A is neither a color nor 130 ml: it is the 300-ml Matte Black. The 130-ml Matte Black sits outside the run altogether, at 3WX25A. The three 300-ml colors are F9K15A Yellow, F9K16A Magenta and F9K17A Cyan. A digit misread off the tank lands on a different color or a different size.

Questions schools ask about this part
Which cyan should a low-volume print room buy?
The 130-ml F9J67A if the smaller outlay is the point; the 300-ml F9K17A if cost per milliliter is. The larger tank holds 170 ml more ink and works out materially cheaper per milliliter, and the ink inside is identical. Current prices are shown on both product pages.
The printer says cyan is low but it is still printing. How long have we got?
That depends on the queue, so nobody can answer it honestly with a number. The remaining-ink reading on the front panel is the only reliable guide.
We have two wide-format printers. Will one cartridge cover both?
Yes if both are T830 MFPs. If your second machine is a different DesignJet, call 866-788-7900 with the model number before ordering — a different series takes a different ink family.
